It consists of a prefabricated panel, which consists of a “Super - insulated core of rigid expanded Polystyrene sandwiched between two - engineered sheets of different gauge steel welded wire fabric mesh”
description
Normally these panels are manufactured from a starting size of 4’(wide) x 8’(Length)The panels can be prefabricated upto 40’ (Length) in 8” increments.
Thickness of load bearing walls = 4”Thickness of non-load bearing walls = 2”
Truss wire Gauges are 11 G , 12.5 G and 14 G.Polystyrene Core thicknesses are 1.5” to 6.0” with +0.5” increment.
Definitions
Shotcrete shall be defined as mortar or concrete pneumatically projected at high velocity onto a surface. There are basically two types of shotcrete processes;
Comparison of Dry – and Wet – Mix Processes
Dry Mix Process
Wet Mix Process
Instantaneous control over mixing water and consistency of mix at the nozzle to meet variable field conditions
Mixing water is controlled at the delivery equipment and can be accurately measured
Better suited for placing mixes containing lightweight aggregates, refractory materials and shotcrete requiring early strength properties
Better assurance that the mixing water is thoroughly mixed with ingredients
Capable of being transported to long distances
Less dusting and cement loss accompanies the gunning operation
Start and stop placement characteristics are better with minimal waste and greater placement flexibility
Normally has lower rebound resulting in less material waste
Capable of higher strengths
Capable of greater production
Proportions and Materials
Shotcrete proportions shall be selected that allow suitable placement and finished in-place hardened shotcrete meeting the strength requirements. Aggregate.Coarse aggregate, if used, shall notexceed 3/4 inch (19 mm)
