Review of structural design calculations and construction drawings for Schools, Colleges, Basic Health Units, Hospitals, Residential Units, and Shelters etc. is one of the key areas in which NESPAK is providing services since the establishment of ER Division. This activity served two main purposes, namely, improvement of proposed structural designs and the capacity building of local consultants in the field of Earthquake Engineering.
This is an ongoing process. During the year 2008, designs/drawings of total no of 76 projects of 36 donor agencies were reviewed. Few of these projects are in the process of evaluation, 18 projects are pending with the donors for implementation of comments raised by NESPAK and 53 projects have been given NOC for construction.
